The purpose of the Selective Diversion System and Guidelines is to keep regional EMS squads updated regarding the current status of each member hospital’s emergency room. This does not take the place of EMS current protocols to contact a hospital emergency department, but enhances the communication of status. This system has allowed the hospitals to save staff time by providing the ability to produce accurate internal and community reports regarding diversion and other equipment issues. 

Participants

Some member hospitals or health systems in Medina, Portage and Summit Counties participate. 

Frequency of completion

This system is used on a daily basis.

The program was developed by ARHA in collaboration with the Greater Dayton Area Hospital Association (GDAHA). ARHA continues to work with GDAHA to update and enhance the site with additional features when necessary.
